The bird is out flying and she does it well. Here is another proud report from the trainer…
It was a typical Belgium “kermis” race in Laarne today. Maybe not the biggest race but still the first important victory of the season, who gives the boost and self confident she need.
After 4 laps (out of 24) and at 2nd attempt managed Emma to get in the breakaway of the day. Together with Christina Becker, Sjoukje Dufour and Belgium champion Ludivine Henrion was the gap growing till more then 2 minutes. On the last lap attacked Emma and got away whit the Germen rider, Becker. The sprint was won convincing and first victory of the year is a fact. Only 8 riders finished the whole race.
Emma left directly after the race to Holland, for tomorrows “Dolmas Heuvelland Classics”.

So it´s time again… time for another day at the office ;)
A classic Belgian kermesserace today and then up and spend the night in Holland. Dolmas Heuvelland Classics tomorrow, wich is the womans answere to Amstel Gold Race for the men. Very hilly they say so it will be an perfect preparation for next weeks Ronde van Vlaanderen.
Last week have been good. Some good training and alot of quality time with Martin, at the moment we are addicted to Prison Break and just can´t stop watching it! I have also spend alot of time on the phone with friends and family, sometimes it feels like I´m too far away. I would like to be abel to see them a bit often… Miss you all!!
Lunch soon and then it´s time…
Have a nice weekend,
Emma
Another top result for Emma, after a tactical miss in the last climb.
Just spoke to Emma on the phone and she told me that she played it a bit too cool in the last climb before the finish.
- I sat and watched a gap grow in front of me….stupid… It forced me to make a big effort in the downhill. I got back to the group 2k from the finish and sprinted in to a 7th place.
Won did British climber Emma Pooley who attacked 40k from the finish and won solo with 1:36min.
More to come as Emma gets back to Belgium…
