2009.09.19 - Victory in Kluisbergen

After three days on the sofa I finally felt alot better this morning… So I took the decision to start in Kluisbergen… and once again this year I got to step up on the top of the podium!

Today I had a perfect day, first breakfast with Martin and then a good race followed by a delicious dinner with all our “buuren” (neighbours) :) Me and Martin are going to miss you ALL so much!! But don´t worry, we will always come back…

It´s days like this that I will always remember!

2009.09.14 - Disappointed after World Cup ending!

13th place on the last World Cup made yesterday to a day of disappointment for me. To not be mentally there on the last kilometer before the sprint when I really had to, made me 2nd in the overall  World Cup.
I had the good legs, so atleast they have not left me :)

2009.09.10 - Last night…

Four days is way too short… Feels like I just got back from Holland and tomorrow it´s already time to go again.
Have had some really nice days back home and I think that my batteries are loaded for the final of the season.
First the last World Cup in Nürnberg on Sunday and then the World Championships in Mendrisio…

And I´m aiming for GOLD :)

2009.09.06 - Last Day + Last Chance = Victory

Today was the last stage from the Holland Ladies Tour. 6 laps on a circuit around Valkenberg with finish on the top off Cauberg. Felt already yesterday that my legs were coming back after the dip that I had on Wednesdays stage.
So today when a group of ten girls got away already on the second lap and got almost three minutes I thought that I might not get a chance to try them out today. With Mascha in that group it was a perfect situation for the team, and when the speed was put up on the second last lap we just had to follow. Marianne attacked on Cauberg going out for the last lap and I could easily follow. Her chance to win the tour was big, if she could catch the first group… So with her team “DSB Bank” chasing I got a nice trip and with 4km to go we caught them back. Last time over the Cauberg and on the top I was first one over the finishline :) Thanks to a good teamwork!

2009.09.04 - Stage # 4

Just passed more than the half from the tour and now it only remains 2 days.
Todays stage was a lot easier than yesterday… almost no rain and the curcuit was in the forrest so no wind :)
I spent most of the day in the peloton, besides some attempt to escape that did not succed. Tried it 1,5 km from the finish but no luck this time… Got 5th on the stage and Wild won again.

2009.09.03 - Stage #3

I would say that todays stage was the hardest race from the year! So much wind it´s not normal… or wait a bit, guess it´s normal in Holland!?!?

Anyway, got blown off the road 5 times… Ended 6th in the sprint, everything was on a long line on the last 500m.

2009.09.02 - Holland Ladies Tour

From one race to another…
I was back from France late on Saturday night/earlie Sunday morning. Had two days in Zingem that I spent together with my brother who came for a short visit :)

Since yesterday I´m in Holland for the Holland Ladies Tour. First stage yesterday was cold, wet and slippery… That I didn´t crash was unbelievable! The rain made the roads feel like ice… In the end it all came into a bunchsprint and I was 4th behind Wild, Vos and Teutenberg.

Today we had a timetrail from 13km, I was 12th and 52 seconds behind Ellen Van Dijk that won.

Have to go to bed now… I´m so tired!!
