After the race on Sunday I had my worst nightmare ever losing my engagementring. It all happened so fast! A small room full of 6 RedSun riders in a hurry to take a shower and pack our bags for the trip back to Belgium. I realized 20min later and the panic was there… Looking through my bags, the room, all blankets, and under the bed over and over again… No ring! Had some of the girls searching through their bags aswell… still no ring! The tummy ache was terrible but when I looked through my plasticbag for dirty racing clothes there it was, blinking and shining to me :) And I could not hold back my tears anymore!

With the ring back on its place on my finger we could take of towards Belgium…
A sleepless stop on a hotel in Switzerland felt worthless as I had to get back in the car just as tired on Monday morning.
All Monday was spent in the car and once back home I felt like I was dying! Finished off a long day with Chinese take away and an episode of Dexter, my new favourite series, togeter with Martin.

Finally a good nights sleep and this morning it felt better. Powertraining on the schedule and with less motivation it felt like a victory when it was over! Even got some support on my powerintervalls over Edelareberg as the ”Driedagse De Panne” was passing on my hill and I had no intention to change my training ;)
After a loong massage and leftovers from yesterdays chinese I´m now crawled up on the sofa and ready for another episode of Dexter!

Not really what I hope for but happy with my good legs and that another race is coming up soon!

Just stopped on a hotel for a sleep, tomorrow back to Belgium :)

Lying on my bed in a rainy Italy. Been out on a 2,5hrs ride today to empty my body after two days of traveling. In the start my legs felt very heavy as they normally do after many hours in car but towards the end the good feeling started to come again :) The rain was pouring down and I had to turn back on the top of one of the climbs due to thunderstorm and hail! Rest of the training was spent on the roller :)

A year has already passed since I made my first podium place ever in a World Cup. Last year the weather here in Trofeo Alfredo Binda was horrible, cold and rainy (just like today) but it looks like we will get some sun on Sunday.
Feels a bit strange that I so soon will stand on the start line in the World Cup again, but I really look forward to it…

Since a few days back you can see me beside Tom Boonen in the famouse Ronde van Vlaanderen museum in Oudenaarde. They contacted me for a photo as they want to give womancycling more attention, and I´m very happy to be a part of that. To then be put besides Tom Boonen  is also not bad ;) They compare the difference between male and female athletes, Tom and Me. If you´re around it´s worth to take a look!

A great race again!

Had  a good weekend with a 3rd place Saturday in Oostduinkerke and another victory today in Deerlijk. I’m happy to do more racing kilometers and that my sprint is stronger than last year. Some extra training before and after the race also gives me the confidence to take a rest day tomorrow.

Thanks to all the supporters who were there in the cold wind.

Another belgium racing weekend is on the it’s way. Oostduinkerke Saturday and Deerlijk Sunday, and togheter with my team and of course my great supporters I look forward to do what I love the most; racing!

The last months I got one special supporter following me. Jeroen Vincent made a facebook fan site and got all kind of news and reports over my racing. A pity that I still havent had the pleasure to meet him for real yet. Every time Jeroen supports me at the races he disappears in the crowd. Jeroen, please come and say hello the next time! And for all the rest of you add his fun and well updated “Emma Johansson fan” group at facebook!

I also made a new supporters t-shirt. If you want it, take contact with me at the races or visit my favourite bakery “Molentje”  in Ruien/Kluisbergen.  At the bakery “Ma” will meet you with a smile as always. Here they also have belgiums best  ”rijst taart” who helped me finish my long trainings many times when the “hunger klopp” was almost killing me. :-) But one small warning… the easter chocolat have arrived.

To all my friends and supporters, thanks for making racing so fun!

Season has started perfect and already I have 3 victories.
Last weekend it was in Het Nieuwsblad, on Saturday in Wanze and then Sunday in the first Belgium Cup race Tielt-Winge.
