Holland Ladies Tour have started and for me it was an ok first day. Had a good feeling in my legs and I think that I have recovered well from last weeks Trophee d´Or.
A 7th place in the sprint and we are on the way.

Tomorrow it´s 107km on the schedule….

From one race to another…

Last stage in France went good. After some hard work for my team and me I managed to get 2nd on the last stage and also win the General Classement!
And the champagne tasted excellent :)

After a long trip back home on Saturday I had 1,5 days back home in Zingem. Those were filled with a lot of sleep, breakfast with Martin, work on the computer, easy rides on my bike and we also made a visit to one of our favourite restaurants for the last time… Strange that I won´t come back to Belgium more this year :(

Today Holland Ladies Tour starts… so time for another racingday :)

Todays Queenstage in the tour ended up to be my stage :)

My team controlled the bunch going into the first climbs today and then it was up to me to make the race hard…
And hard it became since I ended up all alone from RedSun in a way to big group. Many attacks of course and in the end I had to let two go…
Last climb on kilometer 74 I thought it´s now or never, 56 seconds up to the two riders… It just had to work out!
Got stuck in between for a while but made it across with 18km to go. The three of us worked the gap up till more than 2,0 minutes and I won the sprint :) finally I got that bottle of Champagne that I have been looking for :)

Easy day at the office today…RedSun had the control and it was only the last 15km that was a bit hard.
It all ended up with a bunchsprint that was chaotic… too many fresh legs and I was closed in. 15th place but still leader and that was the most important thing today.

Tomorrow it´s time for the hard stage. 6 climbs in windy and rainy conditions… Can it get any better :)

Two stages today and the first one was ok…
A 3rd place for me after a very active day with many attacks and hard work for RedSun. Kept the green jersey (points) and Ludevine is still in the mountains jersey.
In the evening it was time for a short timetrail from 7,5km and there I really did a good job. Got 2nd beaten by only 0,21seconds! My time on the tt made me take the Yellow jersey, so now we really have some work to do :)

Tomorrow late start again and I really look forward to a lie inn…

Trophee d´Or and stuff

Just finished the 2nd stage of Trophee d’Or. Ended 3^rd and are happy with knowing I’m strong. Safi Pasta won the stage with one girl up the road with about 15sec. I just closed a 30 sec gap before the finish as 5 riders was up the road. Was a bit tired for the sprint, but feel strong. This evening we have a 8k time trail and I look forward to it!

Still in my mind is the charity ride for cancer in Sweden some weeks ago. Nice to meet so many cyclist celebrate life… Ride of Hope is auction away some signed jerseys for the children cancer foundation. Take a look her and maybe you can put in a bid!

And last for those of you who didn’t see me suffer in last week’s world cup in Plouay… her is a movie of the last 6k.

3rd in Plouay and 2nd in the GC

Yesterday was a very hard day at the office for me! From the moment that we escaped in the beginning of the 4th lap I was suffering all the way… it was 55 long kilometers in the breakaway and I was happy to get rewarded with a well deserved podium place at the finish.
The 3rd place gave me enough points to pass Kirsten Wild in the General Classification of the World Cup and I finished, just as last year, 2nd behind Marianne Vos.

This morning we left Plouay and at the moment we are in Saint-Amand-Montrond, waiting and preparing for Trophee d´Or that starts on Tuesday :)

Ride of Hope success

Going home to Sweden for Ride of Hope was maybe the best thing I have done in a long time! To meet so many nice people that are all there for the same reason was great to be a part of.

As a top sport woman you have to be very selfish and most of the time you like to think that what you are doing is the most important thing… but to come there and to ride my bike for someone else health really opened my eyes and it got me to think about so many things.

To hear all the different stories about friends and families that have been affected really touched my feelings. And it gave me perspective about what I’m doing and reaching for and what really is important…
Their quote “riding for life” says it all!

So thank you to Ride of Hope and to everyone that makes this beautiful tour happen, hope to be apart of it next year as well!
